Lipoprotein lipase of chicken adipose tissue.

چکیده
In recent publications (l-3), the clearing factor of postheparin plasma has been identified with a lipoprotein lipase obtained from rat, rabbit, and calf heart and rat and rabbit adipose tissue. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of the triglyceride moiety of chylomicrons and low density @-lipoproteins. The hydrolysis of simple triglyceride emulsions is also catalyzed by lipoprotein lipase but at a much slower rate. Lipoprotein lipase has now been obtained from chicken adipose tissue; some of the properties of the enzyme from this source are described in this paper.

Identification of an adipose tissue-like lipoprotein lipase in perfusates of chicken liver.
The nature of the lipolytic activity released from chicken livers perfused with Krebs-Ringer buffer (pH 7.0) containing heparin (50 or 10 U/ml), fraction V albumin (3%), and glycerol (20%) was investigated. The nonrecirculating perfusates contained both previously described NaCl-resistant "liver lipase" as well as an apoLp-Gluactivated lipoprotein lipase (LPL). Crude perfusate lipolytic activit...
متن کاملLipoprotein lipase reaches the capillary lumen in chickens despite an apparent absence of GPIHBP1.
In mammals, GPIHBP1 is absolutely essential for transporting lipoprotein lipase (LPL) to the lumen of capillaries, where it hydrolyzes the triglycerides in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. In all lower vertebrate species (e.g., birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish), a gene for LPL can be found easily, but a gene for GPIHBP1 has never been found. The obvious question is whether the LPL in lower vert...
متن کاملTriglyceride, Diglyceride, Monoglyceride, and Cholesterol Ester Hydrolases in Chicken Adipose Tissue Activated by Adenosine 3’:5’-Monophosphate-dependent Protein Kinase
Hormone-sensitive lipase and cholesterol ester hydrolase of chicken adipose tissue were markedly activated by adenosine 3’:5’-monophosphate (CAMP)-dependent protein kinase (on the average, 235 to 275%); occasionally as much as 1000%). Diglyceride and monoglyceride hydrolases were also activated, but to a lesser extent (60 to 87%). The activation of all four hydrolases was inhibited by protein k...
متن کاملThe lipoprotein lipase of white adipose tissue. Studies on the intracellular distribution of the adipocyte-associated enzyme.
The separation of rat epididymal adipocytes into plasma-membrane, mitochondrial, microsomal and cytosol fractions is described. The fractions, which were characterized by marker-enzyme analysis and electron-micrographic observation, from the cells of fed and 24 h-starved animals were used to prepare acetone/diethyl ether-dried powders for the measurement of lipoprotein lipase activities. The hi...
متن کاملThe effect of estrogen on the lipoprotein lipase activity of rat adipose tissue.
The effect of 17beta-estradiol or progesterone administration on adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase activity was studied in male and ovariectomized female rats. Lipoprotein lipase activity was measured in acetone-ether-extracted preparations of adipose tissue with doubly labeled (14C-fatty acid, 3H-glyceryl) chylomicron triglyceride as substrate. Administration of 17beta-estradiol to male rats l...
